rental assistance

Home Forward offers several programs to help people pay their rent.

The RLRA program will primarily serve households where people are living with disabilities, and leaving or at risk of long-term homelessness.

In Multnomah County, the Regional Long-term Rent Assistance program (RLRA) is managed by Home Forward. It provides rent subsidy to qualified low-income tenants, and allows private landlords to rent apartments and homes to these tenants at fair market rates. It can be either a tenant-based subsidy to help households find market homes, or a project-based subsidy that helps households who need on-site supportive services in a specific building. Program service partners cover move-in costs and provide supportive services, as needed, to maintain housing stability.

For details on policy and how RLRA works, visit the Supportive Housing Services page at Metro.
